How can I make my blog load faster?

The speed at which your blog loads is critical to attracting more readers to your blog. If your blog takes a long time to load, many readers may leave your blog before they have the chance to read it. Here are a few tips and tricks that will help your blog load faster and attract more users:

Posts

Your blog's load time can be affected by the number of posts you display on your main page. You can easily edit the number of posts displayed of the main page from the Settings | Formatting tab. You can then select the number of posts you want to display on the main page. We recommend displaying 10 or fewer posts on the main page.

Third Party JavaScript and Links

For optimal blog load speed, we recommend using Google/Blogger widgets, JavaScipt and links. However, if you need to use third party JavaScipt and links, your blog will load much faster if you put all JavaScript at the bottom of your blog. If you have third party JavaScript and links in your sidebar, put them in at the bottom of the sidebar.

Images and Media

The more images, videos and other multi-media you have on your blog the longer it will take to load. However, images and other multimedia are important to attracting users to your blog, so it is important to optimize the load speed of your images and media. Here are a few tips to increase the load speed of your media:

  • Decrease the size of your images or use thumbnails that link to the full-size image.
  • If you use third party images, consider uploading them to Picasa Web Albums via the Blogger post editor.
  • If you have a large number of images to display, you can upload all your images (from a vacation or event) to a Picasa Web Album and link to the album in your post or sidebar.

Other suggestions

  • If you've added any custom CSS to your blog, make sure you put it at the top of the page.
  • The most important content of your blog that catches readers attention should load the quickest. To help you identify which items are taking the longest to load you can use Stopwatch. To use Stopwatch, enter your blog's URL into the text box and click "Start StopWatch". Stopwatch will then open your blog in a frame and will record the time it takes for everything on your blog to load, including images, videos, widgets, etc. Take note of the items that take the longest to load and modify them appropriately using our suggestions.

AdBrite, AdSense Or Bidvertiser - Which is Better?

Lets take a look on each of the ads provider one-by-one.

ADBRITE
AdBrite offers a way for publishers to convert their site's traffic into advertising offers. By posting "Your Ad Here" spaces on their sites, publishers can link site visitors to the advertising opportunities that they are currently offering and therefore generate more interest in the site's ad spaces than would have been possible through only AdBrite's marketplace.

AdBrite also allows publishers to set their own ad rates and to approve and reject ad offers, giving them more power over what goes on their site and for what price than many other networks allow. With 450 million impressions per day on 75,578 sites and numerous advertising and customization options, AdBrite is a large network that offers flexible and innovative ways for publishers to monetize their ad spaces.

Features
1. Customize ads to match your site
2. Approve and Reject ads
3. Works alongside with other ad programs.
4. Text ads
5. Banners
6. Inline ads
7. Full Page
8. InVideo
9. BritePic ie ads in photographs too
10. Support non english sites
11. Referral Program

Payment
AdBrite gives its publishers 70% of the revenues generated from their ad spaces and keeps 30%. Payments are made to publishers by checks in U.S. dollars, and the minimum payment amount is $5, although users must change the default $100 minimum in order to receive checks this small. Earnings under the minimum amount roll over into the next month. AdBrite pays at the end of each month for a publisher's earnings in the month two months prior; for example, revenues made in July will be paid out at the end of September.

Summary
AdBrite offers its users unique ways of advertising and is both easy to use and reliable. It is compatible with other services and can be customized to match a publisher's site theme. The InVideo and BritePic features are particularly attractive, especially for publishers with a lot of multimedia content. Overall, this network is a good alternative for publishers who wish to monetize their sites, especially if they feel that they could easily sell ad spaces to their visitors through on-site ads.

GOOGLE ADSENSE
One of the most well-known and popular advertising networks on the internet, Google's AdSense offers its users a way to monetize their sites through both ad links and the Google search feature. Its main draw is that the advertisements it offers are targeted to fit the content of the page on which they appear and the search terms that are entered into the search field.

This means that the advertisements it displays are more relevant to the content of the site on which they are posted, and therefore more likely to be clicked by visitors to that site. This is a major innovation in advertising and still fairly uncommon among ad networks, and has proven much more effective at earning money for site owners than untargeted advertisements.

In addition, AdSense provides a variety of ways to customize both the ads' appearance and the way in which their value is reported, making it a very comprehensive and straightforward provider of relevant advertisements.

Features
1. Text ads
2. Search Box monetization
3. Automatically customize ads to suite your site
4. Banner

Payment
Receiving payments from this network is fairly simple. AdSense offers both EFT and mailed checks in the user's specified local currency. When a site owner's ad revenue reaches $100 or greater, a payment will be issued to that owner within 30 days of the end of that month. If revenues do not reach $100, the account balance is rolled over to the next month and does not expire.

While Google has not revealed the exact figure or share that the publisher gets, but according to The New York Times, however, calculated from Google's published financial reports that AdSense partners receive 78.5% of the profits that Google makes off of their ad space.

Well its a good news for the publishers there.

Summary
AdSense is a very user friendly ad network that is simple to set up and run for even new site owners. Its targeted advertising makes it more likely that the posted advertisements will appeal to site viewers, and the Google search feature allows site owners to keep viewers on their site longer and also lets them receive revenue for clicked searches.

Reports are customizable so that Adsense users can view and maximize their profits, and receiving payments from AdSense is simple for most people with a major bank account.

Overall, AdSense seems to be a very simple and flexible advertising network.

BIDVERTISER
Bidvertiser burst onto the CPC ad network scene by trying to differentiate itself from the many other contextual networks available. Their innovative business model was, and still is today, to sell their publisher's ads to the highest advertising bidder on a price-per-click basis.

As such, advertisers bid against each other for a publisher's ad space, with the highest bidders always getting displayed on the publisher's website.

Features
1. Completely Customizable ads
2. Extremely low minimum payout of $10
3. 3rd-generation bidding-based system
4. Ads for RSS Feeds
5. Referral Program

Payment
Bidvertiser pays in monthly installments on Net-15 Payment terms, and offers one of the lowest minimum payouts in the industry at only $10. However the $10 minimum payout is for PayPal withdrawals only. In addition to PayPal, Bidvertiser can also pay by check, but the minimum payment for check is $50.

Summary
Bidvertiser excels in every area such as their great control panel and superb level of ad customization. Their greatest feature is arguably their payment options, offering payment via PayPal as well as an incredibly low minimum payment of $10.

Unfortunately, Bidvertiser's targeting is not as powerful as other contextual networks such as AdSense, resulting in poorer conversion rates. In addition, Bidvertiser's smaller network of advertisers leaves the competition not as strong as their Google counterpart.

However, despite their lower payouts, Bidvertiser is still a great company and useful for publishers seeking low minimum payments, custom ad sizes, or simply an alternative to AdSense.

Which is better Adbrite, Adsense or Bidvertiser ?
After reviewing all of the three ad providers you will yourself find that AdSense is not the world's end. Adbrite being the best option in all the categories payments, support and the number of advertisers available whereas AdSense excels in the number of advertisers available and the last one being Bidvertiser which is also a good option but not as good as Adbrite or AdSense.

New Feature announced Bidvertiser Referral Program

Bidvertiser just launched a new set of referral program images and links, named "Advertise Here Set". This set allows you to place various "Advertise Here" referral buttons and links across your website, blog, or even email newsletter, inviting your visitors to advertise on your site via BidVertiser.

To make it even more enticing, this set will give your visitors $20 coupon of free clicks to advertise on your site and will link directly to your personal "Advertise Here" landing page on the BidVertiser site, featuring the free $20 coupon. And better than that - we do not require any initial deposit which makes the $20 free for real!

To continue, simply login to your account, click the "Referral Program" link on the upper navigation bar, activate your referral program and choose to refer Advertisers. Then, simply choose any of the "Advertise Here" set of images or links.

BidVertiser - The New Rival Of Google Adsense

Bidvertiser is a good Adsense alternative!

Bidvertiser is a FREE ad network you can sign up for and get some ads to place on your website. Bidvertiser isnt as robust as the Google Adsense network but it is a good alternative. If you are a small publisher with limited traffic you might have a hard time getting big ad networks to care about you! In general big ad networks only care about real traffic (thousands of hits a day).

I (and also u can) started using it as an Adsense Alternative.

Well it is all up to you if you want to display the Bidvertiser Ads straight up on your Website/Blog or use it as an alternative to Google’s Adsense. I didn’t log on to Bidvertiser for a while, I never go there to check on my revenue or anything, I normally just see the amount show up in my PayPal account and let it stayed that way. But just the other day I was going through all the affiliate programs that I am a member of and realized that there have been quite a few upgrades done.

These new updates will really give your blog/website the chance to show its full revenue potential. First of all they thought about Wordpress users and added a plugin that makes it possible to embed Bidvertiser ads in your RSS feed just like Adsense RSS feed. There are many of us nowadays that use Feedburner services to maximize RSS readership, so they thought of a way to use Bidvertiser to monetize you RSS feed too.

They have also ventured into the Footer Ads category too; they have added a solution which gives bloggers the capability to embed ads into the footer of each post feed.

Now, there are a few reasons Bidvertiser seems to be doing quite well. The minimum payout with Bidvertiser is only $10, in comparison to Google’s $100. This gives users the chance to receive their payment more often. Not only that, but many people do not reach the $100 mark for a long time (sometimes a year, or some even quit before). For these people, Bidvertiser is much better. If you feel like you cannot pull in the $100, try Bidvertiser.

Secondly, Bidvertiser pays by check. Many people (including myself) are not big fans of PayPal, due to the fact that you are dealing with personal information online (credit cards and such). Adsense, also sends payments by check, so there is no advantage here for Bidvertiser over Adsense. Although, Bidvertiser still has a great advantage over many other advertisement programs that only accept online payment methods.

Bidvertiser has been shown to perform much better than Adsense on sites relating to money, and making money online. So, for those with these kind of sites, Bidvertiser would be a great option for you. Nonetheless, even if you are running a site on a topic other than money, Bidvertiser is still fantastic.

From personal experience, the pay per click on Bidvertiser is usually between 10 & 15 cents. I have the ability to chose text and banner ads in many different sizes. One of my favorite features is the fact that you are able to decline ads that you do not like. This way, they will not be placed on your site. Furthermore, you have the ability to accept ads you like. Often times, I have seen ads on peoples sites that do not completely relate to their content (be it Google, Bidvertiser, and others). This is a good feature because you have the ability to fix the problem.

Now, if you’re in the middle of AdSense and Bidvertiser, no worries. You can use both, and I see sites everyday that have both. It can actually be an advantage because you will get a variety of ads on your site. This is perfect because visitors to websites usually enjoy a “variety.” I personally get sick of seeing the same ads over and over, and am sure many others do. Statistics have shown that using both Google Adsense and Bidvertiser actually has quite effective results.

Lastly, Bidvertiser offers a phenomenal referral program. Every time you refer a user to the advertisement program, and they spend ten dollars, you will receive five dollars. The more they spend, the more you will receive. Same goes for anybody you refer as a publisher. Many people make more than half of their income from Bidvertiser through the referral program.

For those struggling with AdSense, or other advertisement programs, Bidvertiser is a great choice. I have heard of many people giving up on Adsense after a month, and eventually giving up on their site. Do not give up on your site. Give Bidvertiser a shot, just like many others have, and you will soon be sharing your success story.

Optimization Tips for Bidvertiser

Bidvertiser is not like Adsense. It won’t read your content to display relevant ads. It is non-contextual like adbrite. So, bidvertiser will world good on niche sites, sites that are focused on a single topic.

I like some features of this ads network, which sometimes make me choose it over Adsense. Here are 3 such features am talking about:

  1. You can choose which ads to appear, simply don’t approve the low paying ads, and then all you will be left with is high paying ads. This means more money per click, and yes I have got 50+ cents clicks at times.
  2. It pays by Paypal. This is a huge benefit, as checks usually don’t reach me. There are other ways to receive payments also.
  3. The minimum payout is pretty less, so I don’t have to wait for ages to reach the minimum payment threshold like the other ads network.

So, here are my optimization tips for bidvertiser:

  • Better zone placement means better revenue. Maximize exposure and get more clicks by putting your Bidvertiser zone near the top of your page, or within your site content.
  • Your choice of ad format makes a difference. Our full range of ad products like BritePic and InVideo might bring in more revenue.
  • The look and feel of ads can be adjusted so that they fit your site better.
  • Making more money sometimes requires a little extra effort and time. Be patient, and keep checking in with us for more ways to get the most out of your zone!
  1. Reject the low paying ads. No use to accept ads that pays pennies on clicks. Remember the default option is approve, so don’t forget to reject. Also reject the ads that dose not match your website’s theme.

  1. Use the squares and big rectangles, and keep your ads covered by content. Use the ads text color, boarder and background the same as the rest of your website. The ads should look like a part of your website.

  1. Some times bidvertiser dose not count all clicks, so if you see that happens, then email them instantly and get the problem fixed. This happened to me sometime back, but may be it is fixed already.

  1. Blending of Ads:This trick is common for all ad networks.Just create the ad template such that it will look like a part of website. It will increase Click Through Rate (CTR) and hence the earnings.
  1. Wrap the text around the ads: This will put the ads within your content. If the ads are perfectly relevant, you can expect quick growth in number of clicks.
